Express entry is a new recruitment model that the Federal Government implemented in January 2015 in order to streamline permanent residency applications. While it was designed to make the process easier, new requirements such has having a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) or a Provincial Nominee approval have made falling under one of the three Express Entry categories more difficult.
The requirements for this Class are as follows:
- Have at least two years (or equivalent part time experience) in a skilled trade within the five years before you apply
- Meet the job requirements for that skilled trade as set out in the National Occupational Classification (NOC), except for needing a certificate of qualification
- CLB 5 for speaking and listing, CLB 4 for reading and writing
- Have an offer of full time employment for a year OR a certificate of qualification in that skilled trade issued by a Canadian provincial authority
