Express entry is a new recruitment model that the Federal Government implemented in January 2015 in order to streamline permanent residency applications. While it was designed to make the process easier, new requirements such has having a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) or a Provincial Nominee approval have made falling under one of the three Express Entry categories more difficult.
The requirements for this Class are as follows:
Work Experience:
- At least one year full time work (or equivalent part time)
- At the same job
- Within the last ten years
- At NOC skill level 0, A or B
Education:
- A Canadian secondary (high school) or post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree OR a foreign credential accompanied with Educational Credential Assessment approved by the CIC
Proof of funds:
- You must be able to prove you will able to financially sustain yourself after you arrive in Canada UNLESS: you are currently able to work in Canada, have a valid job offer from a Canadian employer and CLB 7
